City Council

The City of Desert Hot Springs has a Council/Manager form of government (City Charter ยง200). Citizens elect five City Council Members at large. The Mayor serves a two-year term and Council Members serve a four-year term. The position of Mayor Pro Tem is rotated annually in December. The City currently holds elections on the first Tuesday of November in odd-numbered years.

The City Council meets in regular session on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. (except the third Tuesdays in July and August) at the Carl May Community Center/City Council Chamber at 11711 West Drive, Pierson Boulevard.
