Welcome to the Desert Hot Springs City Website. This wonderful City, with it’s magnificent views, clean air, unique Spas and awarding winning drinking water, is on the brink of economic prosperity. We have many new residential developments and increased commercial development is just around the corner. We are home to many unique intimate Spas as well as larger Hotel/Spas and the infamous Two Bunch Palms Resort and Spa. In addition we have our Cabot’s Old Indian Pueblo Museum, a historical site in honor of Cabot Yerxa that homesteaded 160 acres which is now known as Desert Hot Springs. Our current population is approximately 24,000 and growing.

I have been a resident of Desert Hot Springs since 1994. We chose Desert Hot Springs because of the clean air, the beautiful views and the fact that we always have an afternoon breeze to cool us down during the hot summer months. We have found the people here to be wonderful caring individuals.

In November 2005, I was honored to be elected to the City Council from a field of eight candidates. I have been active in the community since moving here in 1994. The Desert Hot Springs Women’s Club holds a special place in my heart. The primary goal of this organization is to provide scholarships to deserving Desert Hot Springs students to provide them with an incentive to continue into higher education. I encourage you women that are reviewing this website to consider joining this worthwhile organization.

I have also been a member of the Chamber of Commerce and held an executive office on the Board of Directors since 1999-2005. I was appointed to the Planning Commission twice. The first time in 1997 and again in 2004, where I sat as Vice-Chairman until elected to the City Council

I lost my husband to cancer in 2006. My consolation was to devote full time to working to make Desert Hot Springs the best that it can be.

In 2007, I decided to run for Mayor and was elected. My goal is still to make Desert Hot Springs the best City in the Coachella Valley.

It is an exciting time for all of us living and working in Desert Hot Springs. This City Council has an opportunity, through carefully considered decision making, to move gracefully into the 21st century. We have a much needed Health and Wellness Medical Campus coming in the near future, the future prospect of a beautifully designed and much needed Community Civic Center, developing a Comprehensive General Plan utilizing a “smart growth” plan, and bringing the desired commercial growth to enable our residents the opportunity to work and shop in Desert Hot Springs.

Because of my nearly 25 years in State government, working with all segments of the population. I believe I understand the needs and desires of individuals, business owners, entrepreneurs, developers as well as the City staff. My goal is to always keep this in mind when making decisions that affect our community.

Our City staff and Chamber of Commerce are eager to help you in any way they can.
