Public Works Department

The Public Works Director Hal Goldenberg and his associates are responsible for the construction, maintenance and operation of the city's streets, landscaping and other publicly owned facilities, including city parks. The Public Works Director also supervises the Engineering and Maintenance Divisions.

The Engineering Division designs and constructs public improvements, checks subdivision maps and traffic engineering plans, and oversees inspection services. The Maintenance Division ensures that streets and other public right-of-ways are maintained and repaired when necessary.

Other Public Works Department duties include:

• Processing developers' requests
• Maintaining traffic signals
• Designing and constructing public improvements, such as bicycle paths, storm drains and landscaped street medians.
• Maintaining public streets and public facilities by making minor repairs and removing litter.
