To help residents pay for sewer hook-up, the City Council established a policy to provide up to $5,000 at 3% interest with no monthly payments to owners of single-family owner-occupied homes within the city limits. When the property changes handes or is refinanced, the loan is repaid from the escrow account. The loan is secured by a recorded deed of trust and promissory note.
Rental properties are NOT eligible. Families whose income is less than 115% of the HUD area median income, adjusted for family size, may be eligible for the loan.
Homeowners must apply first to the City for assistance. Should estimates exceed the funds available from the City, further financial assistance may be obtained from Mission Springs Water District (MSWD).
