The City of Desert Hot Springs is preparing to start work on the City Street Rehabilitation Project. This project is funded by $10 million in Redevelopment Agency bonds issued in May of 2008. The reconstruction contract has been awarded to Matich Corporation. The project consists of recycling the existing asphalt pavement and the installation of new asphalt pavement.
The construction for this first phase is expected to last approximately 45-60 days beginning October 27, 2008. Residents will receive advance notice from the contractor as to when each individual street will be scheduled for the improvements. Matich Corporation will work with the Postmaster to insure uninterrupted mail service. trash services will continue as normal during the construction.
