
The greater City of Desert Hot Springs area has a diverse and highly skilled workforce.
Services industry is expected to experience a 26.6% growth rate through 2006, particularly in secondary school teachers, landscaping and grounds keeping, elementary school teachers and registered nurses.
In the Government sector, growth is projected to be 23.8% countywide during the same period, with police and sheriff's patrol officers, correctional officers, firefighters and recreation workers composing the bulk of this growth.
In Retail Trades, growth is projected at 21.6%, particularly in retail sales and supervision as well as food preparation and service workers.
Further growth is expected in the construction and new technology. The county serves as a major distribution center for goods and ranks among the top ten leading agricultural counties in the state, producing a variety of crops, including milk, table grapes, eggs and dates.
