The City of Desert Hot Springs new City Hall project is well underway at Palm Drive and First Street.
Just three months after groundbreaking, the foundation system has already been set, and the framework for the lobby, City Council chambers, and various City staff offices have already been erected.
Workers with RC Construction are on the site daily, Monday through Friday, with plans to be completed by Fall 2020.
The project is being funded using the Desert Hot Springs Public Financing Authority Lease Revenue Bonds Series 2017A and 2018.
As Mayor Scott Matas explained at the groundbreaking, that means that “You’ll still get roads built; you’ll still get police officers on the street; you’ll still get firefighters on the street; you’ll still get the economic opportunities that you deserve as a resident of Desert Hot Springs. So we’re excited about that.”
Mayor Matas promised, “We’re going to build a City Hall you can be proud of.”
