The City of Desert Hot Springs is proud to announce the debut of new wayfinding signs throughout the City.
An upgrade of existing signs, these signs feature a new color scheme that makes the directions easier to read for motorists.
This is just one of the ways that the City is working to improve road safety for motorists and pedestrians.
The City has received $6 million in grant funding to continue making such positive changes.
Phase One has included a new traffic light at Camino Aventura and Palm Drive, new sidewalks, signage for a special speed enforcement zone where fines are doubled, and now, the foundations for 23 new street lights.
Phase Two, will include similar improvements further north on Palm between Two Bunch Palms and Pierson Boulevard. The City plans to install 30 more street lights and two more traffic signals: One on Palm at Desert View and one at Cholla and Pierson.
Keep an eye out for the new signs as we continue moving DHS forward!
