Animal Care and Control

History

The City of Desert Hot Springs has been dedicated to animal care and control since 2017, when we brought the program in-house to enhance the welfare of animals in our community. In 2024, we proudly acquired an Animal Sanctuary, further demonstrating our commitment to providing a safe haven for animals in need. Our staff oversees both locations, managing a high volume of animal intakes and facilitating numerous adoptions. The City remains steadfast in its commitment to the safety, welfare, and care of our animal population.

We are dedicated to upholding the ethical standards set by the City and the State, ensuring that every animal receives the love and attention they deserve, regardless of their background or behavioral challenges.
