The Desert Hot Springs Senior Center is open for business! As of June 15, 2021, all classes and programs have resumed, under carefully planned health and safety guidelines. Still masking up, and socially distancing, but the smiles can be seen in the eyes of the happy seniors. Membership is only $10 per year for individuals aged 50 years and over.
The Riverside County Office on Aging Senior Nutrition Program, through the Mizell Center, provides meals to qualified seniors Monday through Friday at the DHS Senior Center. Interested individuals 60 years and over may apply for the program at the Senior Center. Suggested donation for members is $3 per meal, nonmembers $5. Also, as part of an ongoing mission to help with senior nutrition, we offer a Farmer’s Market on the first and third Wednesday of each month through Find Food. Call the day before to get on the list, and pick up your box of food between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Wednesday.
Fitness, dance, art, and other classes are coming back as instructors schedule their time with the center. Check out the monthly schedule and drop by for a visit. Movies, games, Bingo, day trips and so much more make the Desert Hot Springs Senior Center a great place to hang out.
The center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Founded on July 13, 1979, the Senior Center has been operated by Mizell under contract with the City of DHS since March 2017. It is a place where senior citizens can receive a variety of services and resources.
