Public Works Department

The Public Works Department strives to enhance the quality of life of all residents by designing, building, and maintaining public works infrastructure and providing safe, reliable, effective services consistent with the mission and goals of our city. The Public Works Department is responsible for the construction, operation, and maintenance of all City Parks, City Streets, Traffic Signals, City Buildings, and all Landscape and Drainage Assessment Districts.

The Public Works Department operates through the Engineering Division, City Facilities Maintenance and Operations Division, City Facilities Janitorial Division, and the Environmental and Sustainability Division.

Engineering Division

The Engineering Division reviews and approves all grading plans, storm drain plans, street improvements plans, and traffic signal plans for all public and private development projects. The Engineering Division oversees and manages all Capital Improvement Projects from conceptual ideas, through engineering design, and through final completion of construction.

City Facilities Maintenance and Operations Division and Janitorial Division

The City Facilities Maintenance and Operations Division and Janitorial Division oversees the daily operations and maintenance of all City Facilities including City Buildings, City Parks, and City Streets.

Environmental and Sustainability Division

The Environmental and Sustainability Division oversees all Solid Waste and Recycling Programs and Projects, and the City’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Program (NPDES).
