Public Hearing Notice: Voting Districts (Hearing No. 4)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council will conduct a Public Hearing to Receive public input regarding the composition of yet to be formed voting districts as part of the City’s transition from an “at-large” election system of electing City Council Members to a “by-district” election system. The City Council is considering the change in order to ensure compliance with the California Voting Rights Act of 2001 (“CVRA”). At the public hearing described in this notice, the City Council may receive public testimony to be used in establishing options for district boundaries, pursuant to Elections Code section 10010 and Government Code section 34886.

INTERESTED PERSONS MAY be heard or written comments may be submitted prior to the Public Hearing(s). Written comments will be made a part of the public record. Persons may testify orally at the time of the Public Hearing via Zoom. If you challenge this matter in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City of Desert Hot Springs, at or prior to, the public hearing.
