A contractor is working on electrical light maintenance at Tedesco Park including the skate park area. For safety purposes, lights will remain off in this area until further notice.

In the meantime, we invite you to enjoy our other great parks: Wardman Park, Mission Springs Park, Rotary Dog Park and Veteran’s Park.

With assistance of residents, we were informed that the lights in the skatepark at Tedesco Park have not been working correctly at night. A contractor is scheduled to work on the lights beginning Friday, January 4, 2024.

We will provide an update once repairs are completed.

NEW CLOSURE:

Pierson Boulevard between Indian Canyon Drive and Desert Terrace Way will completely closed in both directions beginning Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 8:00 pm.

Only one (1) lane is open until 8:00 pm. There is a flagger on-site. Please follow their instructions while passing.

The road will remain closed until further notice. Please use Palm Drive to enter and exit the City. Allow for added travel time and drive cautiously.

Let’s Talk Palm Trees!

You may have seen throughout our City that we are currently in palm tree trimming season, this is part of our annual palm tree trimming program.
Our palm trees love the desert sun, and as a result, prefer to be trimmed during the warmer months, summer being the perfect time for this. Any unwanted fruit or flower stalks can also be trimmed during this time.
Fun fact: The City currently maintains a total of 645 palm trees.
All palm trees located in the public right-of-way, LMD’s and DAD’s will be serviced.
Safety is our number one priority when it comes to our trees and residents. Therefore, the contractor will block off street lanes and close sidewalks for the public’s protection. Please obey all warning signs and please stay away from the coned “Drop Zone” area.

Es posible que haya visto en nuestra ciudad que estamos en la temporada de poda de palmas, esto es parte de nuestro programa anual de poda de palmas.
Nuestras palas adoran el sol del desierto y, como resultado, prefieren podarse durante los meses más cálidos, siendo el verano el momento perfecto para ellos. Cualquier fruta o tallo de flor no deseado también se puede recortar durante este tiempo.
Sabias que: La ciudad actualmente mantiene un total de 645 palmas.
Se recortarán todas las palmas ubicadas en el derecho de paso público, LMD y DAD.

The City of Desert Hot Springs is excited to announce our new city-wide street sweeping contractor, Contract Sweeping Services. They are one of California’s largest municipal street sweeping service providers. The new street sweeping services are scheduled every Thursday, beginning this Thursday, February 10. Please refer to the Street Sweeping Map on our website, located under Public Works Information, to see your scheduled date of service.

The City will have several upcoming capital improvement projects (CIP) that involve traffic safety. The term “Road Diet” will be used to describe these projects. A Road Diet’s primary objective is to improve safety for all roadway users, while increasing livability by creating a bicycle and pedestrian-friendly environment. Putting our citizens’ safety first is priority #1.”
